چکیده

In this paper we study an integrated lot sizing problem with distribution and delivery time windows in which the producer has the choice to locate distribution centers from where products are stored and shipped to customers. Based on a real case study, we describe, model, and solve this rich integrated lot sizing problem. In this integrated optimization application, we consider a multi-plant, multi-product and multi-period lot sizing problem. The goal is to minimize fixed and variable production costs, inventory, and distribution costs while satisfying demands within a promised delivery time window. Our work contributes to the integrated optimization literature by simultaneously addressing production, inventory, and distribution problems, and to the production economics literature by comparing and assessing the performance of sequential and integrated solution techniques. We develop an exact method and several heuristics, based on separately solving each part of the problem, as well as a general integrated matheuristic. Our results and analysis not only compare solution costs but also highlight the value of an integrated approach.

Multiobjective Sourcing and Lot Sizing of Drug with Considering Multi-Sourcing and Lateral Transshipment in Stochastic Conditions with Simulation Optimization Method

In this paper, the issue of integrated supplier selection and inventory policy for a drug distribution company with multiple warehouses is examined. In this research, warehouses are faced with stochastic demand and inventory of their medicines is provided by one or more suppliers that are located in a given set of candidates with price, quality and characteristics of the disruption. In addition...

A Two-Phase Iterative Heuristic Approach for the Production Routing Problem

This paper investigates the integrated optimization of production, distribution and inventory decisions related to supplying multiple retailers from a central production facility. A single-item uncapacitated lot-sizing problem is defined for optimizing production decisions and inventory management. The optimization of daily distribution is modeled as a traveling salesman problem or a vehicle ro...

A seller-buyer supply chain model with exponential distribution lead time

Supply chain is an accepted way of remaining in the competition in today's rapidly changing market. This paper presents a coordinated seller-buyer supply chain model in two stages, which is called Joint Economic Lot Sizing (JELS) in literature. The delivery activities in the supply chain consist of a single raw material. We assume that the delivery lead time is stochastic and follows an exponen...

Modeling and Analyzing Incremental Quantity Discounts in Transportation Costs for a Joint Economic Lot Sizing Problem

Joint economic lot sizing (JELS) addresses integrated inventory models in a supply chain. Most of the studies in this field either do not consider the role of the transportation cost in their analysis or consider transportation cost as a fixed part of the ordering costs. In this article, a model is developed to analyze an incremental quantity discount in transportation cost. Appropriate equatio...
